narinig ko na naman ang mga kuliglig
tila di' mawari ang tamang tiklado
ng aking mga paa at mga kamay
sa pagtugtog ng lumang piyano
katulad ng pagtimbang 
kung sakto na nga ba ang takal ng asukal 
sa mainit kong kape na nalalalamig na

hatinggabi na pala ngunit
'di ko pa rin matapos 
ang sinulat sa ilalim ng alapaap
hatinggabi na pala ngunit
'di ko pa rin malirip
kulang na sangkap sa aking mga tula
hatinggabi na pala ngunit
'di pa rin magtugma bawat nota 
upang mabuo ang piyesa

hatinggabi na ngunit 
wala ka pa rin sa aking tabi
tila di' pa rin wasto 
at tugma ang  ating panahon
kaya 'di tayo magtagpo
hayaan mo sa susunod na kabanata
na Siya mismo ang sumulat
magtatagpo rin ang ating mga daing,
hinaing at dalangin 
na 'di malirip ng ating mga isip
at sa sandaling iyon

pangako, 
ikaw na ang pamagat ng aking mga tula
at 'di na tayo mangungulila bawat hatinggabi
dahil tahanan na natin ang bawat isa...
