What if your waiting prolongs even longer?
It's easier to compare when others have their answered prayers and while you are facing closed doors. It's easier to whine in anger when you're facing difficulties. It's easier just to settle for what you see instead of waiting for the best. It's easier to trust yourself because you have control of the outcomes. It might result good and enough but it won't be the best if He's not there and it won't bring glory to Him alone.
He acts on behalf of those who wait on Him. Waiting is believing, claiming, and preparing for what He has promised. Standing on great heights makes you uncomfortable, weary, and tempted- to believe what others might say instead of believing what He was called you to do in your season which is to wait for Him.
The truth is that God wants the best for His children. Although we may sometimes think of Him as a "kill joy," in reality, He desires our happiness in this life as well. However, our sins often hinder us, including our self-righteousness, unbelief, fears, insecurities, and other negative traits that we tend to rely on most of the time.
Delayed dreams and broken plans seem so hard to bear. It's hard to believe His plans weigh better than the detailed plans we prepared just because we can't see His works and we can't trace His hands.
But when waiting seems a burden, ask yourself, "why?"
"Are you really waiting for God to answer and to draw closer to Him even more? Or are you waiting for God to say "yes" to your desires?"
I once asked our pastor, "How do I know if I'm in the right place?" and he simply answered, "If you're still drawing closer to God. If something or someone pulled you away from the Lord even if it means having a great salary at work or more comfortable situations and you choose those, beware, it might good for the eyes and for the body but not for the soul. Remember God wants us to have a deeper relationship with Him. And surely He will bless you even more because you choose to obey Him. There are blessings in obedience."
Just wait a little bit more. Go back to the beginning, the answered prayers, the miracles, and the blessings He has been doing in your life. God is good, believe in His goodness.
Trust His heart because the more you trust the more your love grows deeper.
Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong;
2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.7 Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
Psalm 37: 1-9
do not fret—it leads only to evil.
9 For those who are evil will be destroyed,
but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.
