Promise keeper

A rainbow requires water droplets to be floating in the air that's why we see them right after it rains.

I couldn't resist myself not to smile whenever I see a rainbow. It makes me so kiligggg! And reminds me He's a promise keeper. He's a certain God and He always acts upon His word. Surely, He answers at the right time.

It's been raining these past few days; the rainbow keeps on flashing in the sky. How beautiful it is that after the rain shower here comes a promise.

People are bound to fail, we're inherently forgetful and break some promises because our feelings come and go easily. Thus, we should live by faith, not by our feelings. There are days that I don't feel like praying, there are days I don't feel like trusting God, there are days that I don't feel like writing, there are days I don't feel like showing up, and there are days I don't feel like waiting for His answers. And I realized, whenever I based my actions on my feelings it makes my heart disheartened and leaves me demotivated. Though there are many motivational videos, psychology, and self-help books on how to trick the brain and not feel certain emotions as a believer, it won't be enough most of the time.

We need God's word- the truth. The different stories of how God fulfills His promises to His children when they obey and live by faith. Life is a matter of faith.

After the flood subsides and all the people on earth died except Noah's family and the animals inside the ark. God blessed Noah and his family to be fruitful and multiply the earth.

"Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him, "Behold, I establish my covenant with you and your offspring after you, and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark; it is for every beast of the earth. I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth." And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all your future generations. I have set my bow in the cloud and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth."

Genesis 9:8-13

And the rainbow appears, a sign of His covenant.

When we choose to obey God, certainly there's a promise and a blessing. You know what I am always amazed when God blesses not only His children but also his children's children, until the next generation. There are blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience.

When I was young, I always woke up with Psalm 91 chapter and this command from my mom. She never knew that it already resonated in my heart back then though it's already posted on the wall. She always said these out loud, "Choose to trust me and obey My Words and your life will be a blessing. Your children will be healthy and happy and your food will bring nourishment to your body. You will be blessed wherever you go. I will help you when others come against you. I will command blessings upon your home and everything you do will succeed. Everyone will see how I bless your life. I will bless the works of your hand. I will give you abundant prosperity. You will be a leader and not a follower. You will be a success and not a failure. So choose the life of obedience and I will bring to pass all that I've promised."

Whenever I'm afraid I remember His promise in Psalm 91. And whenever I'm hopeless, I remember these words and remind myself that God is not forgetful, He is a promise keeper. He blesses those who obey and love Him.

I feel you. As a young adult, it's hard to go along in this generation. Sometimes, it seems our prayers are always at the last line whenever others are receiving their answered prayers though you're persevering also and you know in your heart you're choosing the life of obedience but still it seems that it's way too long. Like if we just have a tracking number to track when our answered prayer will arrive maybe it would be better right? But how would we learn to trust and have faith in God if we already have all the answers?

Whatever those desires in your heart, God has a far better way to answer you. He has a better way to answer us. Perhaps, it doesn't like the others because He has different blessings and stories for us. That's how He works. Each of us has different stories and different blessings to fulfill His wonderful purpose for us.

I hope and pray that we will be more courageous even if it's hard to keep going. I pray that we will be reminded that God loves to bless his children and his children's children whenever we choose to obey Him. Imagine, your future children will be blessed also because you choose to obey Him now.

But it will not happen if you don't know Jesus and if you don't have a personal relationship with him. God loves you so much that's why He sent his begotten son Jesus to die on the cross for your sins. God wants to bless you also but your sins hinder His blessings. But life is not only about his blessings because the greatest blessing is Jesus himself. If you want to have a personal relationship with him- ask forgiveness for your sins and accept Jesus as your Savior, put your trust and faith in God alone, and you will be saved. You will receive a new life and eternity. There will be no condemnation because Jesus paid already. You are loved, beloved. He will give you a new identity and a life with purpose and meaning. There will be suffering along the way but He promised to be with you all the time. It's not an accident that you're reading this, God wants you to know that you have life in Jesus, you are loved, and He desires to have a relationship with you.

Romans 5:8 God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Pray to Him sincerely and surrender your life to Him and trust Him beloved.

He's a promise keeper. Let's keep the faith even if it doesn't make sense right now. Surely, there's a blessing and promise to those who trust Him.

According to your faith it will be done to you.

Matthew 9:29

For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:11-13

If you ask anything in my name I will do it.

John 14:14

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 1:9

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations

Deuteronomy 7:9

When God helps; He sends the right people.

God touches hearts; He sends people who are going to help us. Sometimes these are the people whom we least expect to show up in trying times or people whom we even don’t know but still offer help. It’s so amazing, God works in unexpected ways but still right on time.
