In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1: 1-5
Reading His stories always leave me amused, delighted, transformed, and whole. His Word is just so powerful, you can't even fathom how magnificent each word. It holds power to change your whole mindset and heart in just a snap, suddenly all your worries turn into worship, doubts into faith, complains into thanksgiving, it brings light and warmth into your hunted soul.
The first miracle was the wedding in Cana. Jesus was invited and his disciples and when the wine ran out his mother told him that there was no wine.
4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.[
7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.
8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”
They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
12 After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.
John 1:4-12
First miracle. Water turned into wine. Perhaps, you younger kiddos would come to think like how could it possibly happen in the past without having the latest technologies that we have right now. Reading different articles about this which has a lot of deeper meanings from theologians leave me wonderstruck. Our human wisdom is so limited but the Bible is so clear that He is a miracle worker.
So if you are running out of water today, running out of hopes, resources, strength, dreams, and love. Perhaps you fail, you get lost in track, you disappoint someone or even the Lord. Perhaps, you are in bed right now and you don't want to stand up anymore 'cause you just don't have any strength to continue life. You know what, that is the time that miracles happen, just like the water turning into wine, it is only Him who is capable of doing miracles, it is only Him who can fill all the emptiness you are feeling right now, it is only through Him who can open the doors of blessings, favors, and provisions. It is only Jesus who can strengthen you and gives you passion and desires again to hope and to believe. Do not worry, He always welcome His children with his loving embrace like a shepherd to his sheep.
It is all about Jesus. Go back to the source of everything, come and draw near to Jesus.
