Hidden years

In hidden years, God is our only consistent audience. Others come and go, but only he always sees. God alone realizes our full potential and comprehends the longings in our souls. When no one else is interested in (let alone impressed by) our capabilities and dreams, God is still wholeheartedly with fatherly pride shouting his love for us.

When I was young, I always felt invisible, hidden, and not included. I was the quiet girl in the back row with nothing to offer. I was consistently not the first choice for some roles, I felt bad for just being the option thus writing has been my airbag. It is the only place where I can pour out my deep desires to God. I knew back then that He sees me and recognizes my effort and my sincerity in every lil' thing I'm doing even if behind the curtains and the spotlights.

It's kinda discouraging at times and disheartening those hidden moments with our hidden dreams, hidden desires, and hidden efforts. But as I read this new book by Alicia Britt Chole, just on the first few pages, it so much comforting that even Jesus himself experienced these things. Unapplauded, but not unproductive: Hidden years are the surprising birthplace of true spiritual greatness.

I always wonder what is his life before his ministry, Jesus' adulthood, and how he surpassed adulting. But those remain hidden, for only three years, less than 10 percent of Jesus' days are visible through the writings of the Bible. Over 90 percent of his earthly life is submerged in the unseen before his public ministry.

Perhaps, you also thought that anonymous season is boring, disheartening, and meaningless but those things unseen weigh the most. Sometimes we have this tendency to hide some things that are shameful and insignificant but there's also hidden treasure in our hidden season while doing significant and good deeds.

When no one recognizes us, no one celebrates with us, no one applauds us, and no one sees us- God still notices every lil' thing we're doing, seen or unseen in the eyes of many. How comforting it is to know that there's Someone greater than anyone else who is pleased even in our hidden days when we choose to draw closer to Him.

"In unseen places over underestimated years, Jesus had been making unrecorded, unapplauded choices that had prepared him for everything to come. And Father God- who values the seen and the unseen alike- was very, very pleased." Alicia

Isaiah 43:4, You are precious to me, and I have given you a special place of honor.

Your hidden moments is never wasted, those things you are doing behind the curtains and in the eyes of many will be rewarded someday, your hidden treasures are just one step closer to you, so never give up.
